Industrial zones in Moscow are the only large territorial reserve for the development of the city within the historical borders. The total area of ​​industrial zones in Moscow is 18.8 thousand hectares, which is more than 17% of the city’s territory within the historical boundaries. Of these, about 4.3 thousand hectares are subject to reorganization.

Redevelopment of industrial areas is a priority area of ​​Moscow’s urban planning policy, which has been actively pursued since 2012 in accordance with the principles of polycentricity, multifunctionality and comfort of the urban environment.

In its project activities, MIG implements the key principles of the capital’s urban planning policy: quarterly development with developed socio-cultural, engineering and transport infrastructures, jobs, green and public spaces, which forms a permeable urban fabric with new points of economic growth.

PLANNING PROJECTS IN NEW MOSCOW

Design in the Troitsky and Novomoskovsky administrative districts of Moscow is carried out taking into account the requirements of the approved territorial schemes of the Troitsky and Novomoskovsky administrative areas and the principles of the city’s urban planning policy to create a comfortable environment.

The design takes into account the existing situation and the surrounding buildings, the necessary balance of functions, and respect for the preservation of the water-green frame as a key advantage of the annexed territories. Design solutions define the boundaries and functional planning organization of the territory, the scheme of transport and engineering support, development parameters, landscaping and improvement activities, stages of implementation. Most of the MIG projects have been approved by decisions of the GZK or decrees of the Moscow Government.
